Shuxia Wang completed her PhD from Institute of Basic Medical Sciences at Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and postdoctoral studies from University of Alabama at Birmingham. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Nutritional Sciences at University of Kentucky and a Research Scientist in Lexington VA Medical Centers. Her research focuses on the mechanisms of obesity/diabetes associated metabolic complications including insulin resistance and cardiovascular and renal complications. Her research is supported by funding from National Institutes of Health and Veteran Affairs. She has published over 35 papers in high impact journals and has been serving as an editorial member for several journals such as Journal of Obesity and Journal of Diabetes and Metabolism.
